Tupelo Film Festival: 2010 Mississippi High School Film Competition
The Tupelo Film Festival announces a call for entries for the 2010 Mississippi High School Film Competition. This competition has been created to promote the art of film-making to Mississippi high school students involved in film and television classes, film groups or individual film-making.
The High-School Film Competition will be held Saturday, April 24th 2010 in Tupelo, Mississippi. The competition will be in conjunction with, but a few weeks before, the Tupelo Film Festival which will be held on May 13 - 15. There will be four awards presented: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, as well as an Audience Favorite award that will be determined by a vote of the audience. The winners will be screened at the Tupelo Film Festival in May.
Submission Guidelines:
- 10 minute maximum length, including credits
- DVD format (Region 1 or Multi platform)
- $10 submission fee must be included with entry
- Films must be in English or have English subtitles
- The entry must have been produced in the last two years (after 01/31/08)
- Minimal profanity and violence
- Use of music without written consent will result in disqualification
- Submissions must be postmarked by February 15, 2010
- Limit of two (2) submissions by student or collaborative team
- All entry forms must be signed by the sponsoring faculty member

Awards:
Judged awards will be determined by the creativity and professional quality of the films regardless of the category. The Audience Favorite award will be determined by an audience rating system. The audience will rank films on a scale of 1 to 10 and the film with the highest average ranking will win. Sponsoring faculty member will receive a matching award if entry places.

Entry Fee of $10 (checks made payable to "Tupelo CVB"), registration form (click the link below) and DVD should be shipped to the following address no later than February 15, 2010.
Indemnification & Rights:
The Tupelo Film Commission/Tupelo Film Festival is not responsible for lost or damages entries. Submission of an entry is acknowledgment that the filmmaker and sponsor has obtained any necessary clearances, licenses, approvals, etc. and gives broadcast rights permission in regard to all audio and visual elements, including any non-original aspects of the production. The Tupelo Film Commission retains the non-exclusive, uncompensated right to use the film, in excerpts, or its entirety, for exhibition, promotion or any other purpose.
