HOMEMADE JAMZ’ BLUES BAND
2007, 23rd International Blues Challenge 2nd Place Winners (Band Category)
West Coast Blues "Blues New Artist of the Year Award Winners 2008,"
NorthernBlues Music Recording Artist, 2007
Homemade Jamz’ Blues Band is the youngest blues band to sign with a major record label (NorthernBlues Music) - Ryan Perry, lead guitar and vocals, 15; Kyle Perry, bass player, 13, and Taya Perry, drummer, 9.
The Perry siblings were even younger when they first developed a love of music. At seven, Ryan 7 was making up tunes on his father's electric guitar. At 8 Kyle decided to get in on the action and taught himself bass. Baby sister Taya preferred the tambourine, but was soon pressed into action as a much-needed drummer.
Homade Jamz has performed at community and charity events as well as festivals across the country, including the legendary Chicago Blues Festival and the W. C. Handy Festival in Florence, AL. Their performances also include famous clubs such as Ground Zero, Clarksdale, MS.; Club Ebony, Indianola, MS.; and Club Superior, Beale St., Memphis.
This young band has garnered interest from local as well as national media. Susan Spencer from CBS Sunday Morning News accompanied them to the WC Handy Festival in July 07, and aired the short story on the young band nationwide on Dec 2, 07.
The youngest blues band to ever have entered the International Blues Challenge, Homemade Jamx is dedicated to keeping the blues alive.
