Meet Richard McGehee

Richard McGehee was born in Hollywood, Florida.  In 1975 he moved to Tupelo and later attended MS State University where he became interested in traditional and non-traditional blacksmith work. 

A self-taught artist, Richard began his painting/sculpturing career twenty years ago.  He has received awards in art shows throughout the country, and currently lives in Endville with his wife and two children. 

Richard is a wonderful partner and supporter of the Tupelo Film Festival.  In 2004 he sculptured the “Reely Award” which has become an icon to the festival.  The “Reely” is well known nationally and internationally.  Independent filmmakers across the country wait patiently at each awards ceremony to see who will win this beautiful piece of art. 

The Tupelo Film Festival greatly appreciates Richard’s dedication to the festival and outstanding work,  the “Reely.”
