MovieMakers: Movie Animation Workshop for Kids

In this three hour workshop, kids ages 6 through 10 (grades 1 through 5) will explore movie making by creating and filming an animated short film. Kids will make up a story, design the sets, cast the actors, shoot the movie, add titles and credits. This is a hands-on workshop in which kids will learn about story telling, how to draw and construct sets and props, make simple puppets for actors and then record their story as a short film. Kids will work together and in small groups to create this animated film and gain experience in creative expression, team work, technical knowledge about filmmaking and have a great time. Each participant will receive a (mailed) copy of the completed film on DVD. Class is limited to 15 students, parents are welcome to assist. This workshop is brought to you as a community service by the Tupelo Film Commission/Tupelo Film Festival and is presented by Don Tingle, Workshop Directory for the Alabama Filmmakers Co-op.
