Outdoor Recreation

  • Tombigbee State Park – Located just six miles south of Tupelo and under the management of the Mississippi Department of the Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, Tombigbee State Park offers the finest in outdoor recreation opportunities. The park has played host to multiple Disc Golf tournaments and is the host of the annual King of the Hill Triathlon.
  • Trace State Park – offers a quiet, natural retreat located just minutes from the excitement of Tupelo, and a variety of outdoor activities ranging from fishing and water sports to exploring miles of secluded nature trails. The park has an ATV trail that is used throughout the year and is a popular spot on the weekends.
  • Ballard Park – Located on West Main Street in Tupelo, Ballard Park is 153 acres of quality facilities for competitive sports and excellent facilities for family fun. Along with its baseball and soccer complex it features a 3-acre lake, cross country course, 1.3 miles of hard surface trails, amphitheater, skate park and is home to the city’s 4th of July Picnic in the Park.   • Veterans Memorial Park – Located in East Tupelo, Veterans Memorial Park is the largest park in Tupelo with over 185 acres. The park features two softball complexes, a splash pad, disc golf course, ½ mile hard surface trail and a beautiful memorial for military veterans.   • Natchez Trace Golf Course – A 6,700 yard, par-72 course located just north of Tupelo features a challenging round of golf. The rolling hills and established trees ask golfers to be creative with their shot selection.
  • Big Oaks Golf Course – A 6,784 yard, par-72 course was designed by Tupelo native Tracy May. This links style course provides golfers of all skill levels a fun experience. Bermuda greens were installed in the summer of 2009 and already have local golfers raving.
  • Tupelo Country Club - The golf facility at Tupelo Country Club is a full-service golf operation and is open year-round. Practice areas, golf shop with a full line of apparel and equipment, club fitting options for all golfers and club repair is available to its members. TCC Golf Professional Jim Rose was chosen Golf Digest Teacher of the Year for the state of Mississippi in 2007 and 2009. Jim has been a class A PGA member for 18 years.
  • Whitetail Ridge Shooting Range – This world class shooting facility has hosted multiple invitation and national shooting championships. It features 10 skeet fields, 5 trap field overlays, 2 fishing lakes and a 7,000 square foot clubhouse.
