Previous Site of Tupelo Fairgrounds
Overview
This is one of 14 significant sites in Elvis' formative years in Tupelo marked with bronze plaques on the Elvis Presley Driving Trail. Elvis returned to this site in September of 1956 on the verge of superstardom to perform a concert at the fair. He was greeted by a homecoming parade, the Governor of Mississippi and a key to the city of the town where he was so humbly born.
