Summer Art Camps at Party in the Art Room
Party in the Art Room is a Tupelo-based art program meeting the needs of the community in a variety of ways. Located in the Link Centre, Party in the Art Room is the #1 outlet for visual art-based experiences in Tupelo and the surrounding areas. We teach onsite visual art classes here at Party in the Art Room during the school year. In the summers, we also teach art camps. Our camps are fun, fast-paced, and themed.
Fairytales Art Camp is June 2, 3, and 4 from 9-11 a.m. each day.
Students will create three individual artworks:
1. Medieval Shield, 2. Dragon Sculpture, 3. Fairytale Land Collage
Students will play games, listen to fairytale read-alouds, and collaborate on an art installation based on the artwork of Mary Blair and her fairytale castles. NOTE: We are creating different projects based on different fairytales from last year’s camp.
Jenn Hudson will be the primary teacher for this camp. Jenn has been teaching art with Party in the Art Room for over a year and is a teaching artist with the stART with the Arts Daycare Program through the Link Centre.
This camp is based on the curriculum of Amanda Koonlaba, founder of Party in the Art Room. Appropriate for ages 4-10. (Consult with Amanda about age exceptions. She can be reached by messaging Party in the Art Room on Facebook.)
