Matt Axton and his band Badmoon bring their original mountain soul, country rock-n-roll to Blue Canoe in Tupelo for the first time on September 6th.
Like his grandmother and father, Axton’s music spans genres from folk, rock and country to roots, funk and blues while his signature finger picking guitar style and smooth, rich, baritone voice are all his own. Axton's grandmother Mae Boren Axton co-wrote Tupelo's own Elvis Presley's “Heartbreak Hotel” and his father Hoyt Axton wrote hits most notably “Joy to the World - Jeremiah was a Bullfrog” (Three Dog Night), “The Pusher” (Steppenwolf) and his own chart-topper “Boney Fingers.”
