Do you want to give back on National Public Lands Day? Looking for a way to help local communities? Come join Natchez Trace Parkway in cleaning up the Blackland Prairie trail! This trail is a part of our National Scenic Trail system, and we strive to keep it clean and free of debris for the continued use by visitors. We will be cleaning up 2-3 miles of this beautiful trail starting at Old Town Overlook.
Event volunteers will work alongside park staff to pick up litter along the Black Land Prairie trail. This event will be outdoors and thus weather dependent. Be sure to check out the Natchez Trace Parkway Facebook page for updates closer to the event. Tools and safety gear will be provided. However, volunteers should wear sturdy footwear, dress for outdoor weather conditions, and bring water. We will meet at the Parkway Visitor Center, 2680 Natchez Trace Parkway Tupelo, MS, 38804, between 8:30 AM and 9 AM for orientation and check-ins. We will begin shortly after 9AM and plan to finish around 12:30.
