Read with a Ranger: Miles and Miles of Reptiles
Children and their families are encouraged to come enjoy the Read with a Ranger program at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Parkway Visitor Center in Tupelo. This month’s featured story is “Miles and Miles of Reptiles,” a fun Dr. Seuss book that explores various reptiles from turtles to alligators. Participants will learn fun facts about reptiles found along the Natchez Trace Parkway and will be able to make a snake mobile to take home.
Read with a Ranger is a 45-minute program that is most appropriate for ages six and under, but everyone is welcome. Participants will listen to a story, join in a fun activity, and go on an optional and easy half-mile hike. Read with a Ranger features a new story on the second Saturday of the month. To confirm the time and program scheduled each month, please visit our website calendar at www.nps.gov/natr/planyourvisit/calendar.htm.
This program is free to the public. The Parkway Visitor Center is located at milepost 266 on the Natchez Trace Parkway, near Tupelo, Mississippi. For additional information, please call (800) 305-7417.
