Overview

The Chickasaw Nation was once known as one of the great Native American tribes in the Southeast. Tupelo was their homeland until the Indian Removal Act forced their exodus in 1837. The Chickasaw Trail delves into what life was like for these original inhabitants of this area showcasing the impact of great tribal leaders, their military prowess, and their immense role in American history. The trail includes stops along the Natchez Trace Parkway, exposing Chickasaw Nation's influence on this area still today.
