About Elvis '56

Local favorite, Brothers Windham, will kick things off at 6 pm, followed by a recreation featuring Elvis tribute artist Nick Perkins, and the night ends with Wyly Bigger, presented by Downtown Tupelo's Down on Main Concert Series.

Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a night of live music celebrating Tupelo’s musical heritage! Food and drink are available for purchase. No coolers allowed.

Brothers Windham is a local music power duo featuring brothers Blayze and Chase Windham. They play blues, classic rock, country, and jazz at venues all around the region.

Nick Perkins

Nick Perkins is an award-winning Elvis tribute artist from Louisiana. He won the 2018 Tupelo Elvis Festival tribute competition, placed in the top 5 at the 2018 Graceland's Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, and won the 2025 Images of the King Championship in Las Vegas.

Wyly Bigger

Wyly Bigger is a blues and rock ’n’ roll musician from Marion, Arkansas, whose Memphis-rooted sound blends piano-driven energy with the traditions of the Southern Delta. A rising star in the Memphis music scene, he has toured internationally and released his debut album Broken Telephone, which celebrates the spirit of rock ’n’ roll and soul.

Historical Significance

On September 29, 1956, Elvis Presley, who already had a #1 hit and had been on national television, returned home to Tupelo for a concert during the Mississippi-Alabama Fair and Dairy Show. Over 12,000 fans packed the fairgrounds across two shows, and the mayor declared it "Elvis Presley Day." That night helped save Elvis' childhood home, with proceeds going toward the purchase of the house and surrounding land, which he later donated to the city, along with funds for a park and youth center. The 2026 show will recreate that night, 70 years later, on the same date and at the same site.
