In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation that designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. Mississippi COPS and the Wives of Warriors will be hosting the annual memorial honoring NE Mississippi officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. We will have a candlelight vigil, and our guest speaker will be Northeast Community College Police Chief Jason Jackson. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
